Emotional: CIO Steps Down From Family to Spend More Time With Hedge Fund

In an emotional letter, long-time investor Ryan Liston announced on Monday that he is stepping down from his family by the end of this year. “This has not been an easy decision,” lamented the forty-six-year-old, “being a husband and father of two was a dream position for me and it was an important chapter in my life.” The Chicago, IL native cited personal reasons for the departure including the desire “to spend more time with my fund while I’m still young and energetic.”

Liston, who began the family with co-founder Margaret Chan in 2011, added that he was not worried about the vacuum left behind. Instead, he believes the family “will continue to expand and thrive” under Chan’s stewardship. The #1 Dad Award winner ended his announcement by saying that his wife and two children “will always be like a family to me,” and that he looks forward to watching the success they achieve in his absence.
