It’s down a lot of points!

Despite the existence of several indices which better represent the equity market as a whole, local man Ken Farthings, 63, was eager to see what the Dow was up to on Friday. “I heard the market was really moving so I had to check The Journal and see just how big a deal this was.” Ignoring any coverage focused on the percent changes, Ken’s eyes locked on to what he was looking for, “I saw it was down over 800 points for the day. That’s like a 2008 level crisis!” He said he was still comforted, however, noting that the Dow was still over 30,000 points. “Not to get too technical, but that’s how you know the fundamentals are still strong.”
